Nanna Sandom originally set up Splendid Stitches in 2010 following a first career in marketing and branding in the intellectual property sector. Splendid Stitches originally focused on repairs and alterations to vintage clothing, and Nanna ran a successful studio in Bloomsbury for a decade, until the pandemic shifted mindsets. When the studio re-opened post-pandemic, there was a distinct desire from clients to repair clothes for environmental reasons and Nanna decided to explore and overcome the barriers to repairs on a wider scale.
She joined Impact Hub London's Circular Economy Incubator programme in 2022 and developed Splendid Stitches into a B2B position which now works with clothing retailers on delivering after-care clothing repair programmes.
Nanna grew up in Denmark where she learned to sew, mend and alter clothes and where reuse and repurposing was part of her upbringing. She moved to London in 1996 and lives in Islington.
