Our work centres around rescuing surplus produce from wholesale markets, sorting and checking it, then redistributing it in our veg box scheme and to other community organisations.
This produce is at a higher risk of going to waste. We also collect any boxes for reuse (if possible) and use our delivery route to collect and deliver additional surplus!
Over 20 years in the fruit and veg game, Chris volunteered and joined Edible London as a director in 2019, helping to work on food surplus projects.
In the early days of lockdown, Chris founded StreetBox as a way to promote 'surplus' fresh produce and to fund the redistribution of surplus to other community organisations.

Keith is a retired graphic designer who now volunteers with local emergency food provision communities, a Forest School organisation and helped establish StreetBox London CIC. His background in design and marketing, along with his dedication to the eradication of poverty and the resulting food injustice, have helped drive our project forward and look to new ways of working with surplus fresh produce.
