I’m an entrepreneur with a background in fashion, startups and community-building. In my twenties, I launched my first business, the fashion label Kal Kaur Rai, despite having no formal training in design. Starting from my studio flat, I grew the brand into a wholesale business with a showroom in London’s West End, agents in Manchester and Germany, and stockists in more than 120 boutiques worldwide. The label was worn by Victoria Beckham in her Spice Girls days, as well as Beyoncé and Alesha Dixon.

After the 2008 recession forced the business to close, I turned my attention to the growing conversation around the wastefulness of fast fashion. I began hosting second-hand designer fashion events in London, which eventually led to the launch of BuyMyWardrobe in 2012 — an online marketplace for buying and selling designer fashion. Over six years, I raised £1 million in investment, built the business with the support of exceptional mentors and investors, and ultimately sold it in 2018.

Since then, I’ve focused on combining entrepreneurship with purpose — consulting for small businesses, creating community-led initiatives, and collaborating on projects that support connection, creativity and positive change.
